Easy BTMS-50 Hair Conditioner
BTMS-50 combines conditioning performance with emulsification, making it a practical choice for rinse-out hair conditioner. Cetyl alcohol builds body and slip, while a small amount of shea butter and a lightweight carrier oil enrich the formula without turning it into a heavy mask.

Method
- Sanitize the workspace and packaging. Weigh Phase A into one heat-safe vessel and Phase B into another.
- Heat both phases to approximately 70–75°C and hold only as required to fully melt the oil phase.
- Slowly combine the phases while blending. Continue short blending bursts as the emulsion cools and thickens.
- Below the temperature limit specified for the preservative, add Phase C and mix thoroughly.
- Check the final pH with a calibrated meter. A practical target for many rinse-out conditioners is approximately pH 4.5–5.0, subject to preservative requirements and ingredient compatibility.
- Fill a clean container and label it with the batch date.
Customization ideas
- Replace jojoba oil with argan oil for a richer feel.
- Omit fragrance for a simpler formula.
- For a lighter product, reduce shea butter and replace the difference with distilled water; the modified batch must be retested.
